Do Not Litter Poster Contest
Help stop littering!
Hey, all you artists out there. Here’s an opportunity for you to encourage residents and visitors to take pride in our beautiful community and make it cleaner for everyone.
Create a poster with a do not litter message to remind people to do the right thing - put trash where it belongs.
When creating your poster, think BIG and BOLD letters and images. Use a short, catchy phrase, or none at all. A picture, after all, is worth a thousand words.
Why big and bold? Because winning posters may be made into public signs that will be placed in parks and along streets throughout Elizabeth City. We want your poster to BE SEEN!!
So big letters, please. And bright colors.
Teachers, summer camp leaders, and other organizations, your entire class or group is welcome to participate!
Contest is open to adults and students in grades K-12
Runs June 1-September 25, 2025
Use any art medium, including colored pencils, markers, paints, watercolor, ink, mixed media, or found/upcycled objects, to convey your anti-littering message
Draw, paint, or paste your design on white construction paper or poster board
Horizontal and vertical orientation okay, but vertical (or portrait) direction is preferred
Accepted sizes: 9x12, 12x16, 12x18, and 18x24 (needs to be one of these sizes to make into a 12x18 or 18x24 street sign)
