Programs

  • Albemarle Watershed Watch

Our teams of Watershed Watchers monitor water quality in our local creeks and rivers.

  • Litter Cleanups

We organize and provide supplies for community-wide and campus cleanups. Working together we can keep our neighborhoods, roadsides, waterways, and parks clean and beautiful.

  • Youth Environmental Education

Our tree plantings, student water quality testing, litter cleanups, recycling programs, Earth Day event, and more, offer hands-on learning.

  • Paddle Trails

We are working with various partners, organizations, and public officials to develop a network of paddle trails with multiple public access points on rivers and creeks in Pasquotank and Camden counties.

  • Fenwick-Hollowell Wetlands & Pasquotank River Boardwalk Trail

Green Saves Green has adopted a trail!

  • Renewable Energy

We support local solar and wind projects.

  • Native Landscaping & Pollinators

We encourage people to plant North Carolina native plants. And anybody can have a pollinator garden - we’re happy to teach you how!

  • Living with Less Plastic

Single-use plastics are the #1 item we consistently find in our litter cleanups. We’re working to encourage everyone to reduce their plastic use, and we support real solutions to the problem of plastic waste.

  • Recycle Soft Plastics

We partner with ECPPS student groups to get soft plastics out of the landfill and reduce plastic pollution. Students sign up for the NexTrex Recycling Challenge, and we help them meet their goal of collecting 1,000 pounds. When they do, they get a free bench made out of recycled material.
