Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge Ride, Listen & Look Tram Tour

Join Green Saves Green members and friends on a tram ride to see the birds, river otters, black bears, alligators, and other wildlife at the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. Reservation is required. Cost is $10 per adult. Children 12 and under free. Call 252-216-9464 for reservations.

Bring water, lunch, binoculars, mosquito repellent, and sunscreen. We'll eat lunch at the refuge following the tour.

We'll plan to meet at 7a.m. in the Food Lion parking lot on Hughes Boulevard and carpool from there. Or you can drive to the refuge and meet us at the Creef Cut Wildlife Trail parking lot where the tram tour starts. The drive takes about 1.5 hours from Elizabeth City. Please email mgreerwrite@gmail.com once you have reserved your seat and let us know if you want to carpool or if you will meet us at the refuge.

Tram Tour starts at Creef Cut Wildlife Trail parking lot, Hwy 64 and Milltail Road, approximately 6 miles west of Manns Harbor.

If you have questions, email Marlene Greer at mgreerwrite@gmail.com..

In partnership with the NC Forest Service, we’re giving out 400 native eastern redbud and flowering dogwood bare-root seedlings. The seedlings are dormant in winter, and not much to look at now. But plant them in your yard and watch them grow into beautiful trees. Stop by any of these locations and pick up your free trees. First-come, first-served.

Let’s clean up!

9-11 a.m., Saturday, March 23

Help us get our city streets and downtown parks looking their best before thousands of runners and visitors arrive for the U.S. Coast Guard Marathon. The focus will be downtown Elizabeth City, but if there are enough volunteers we’ll send people to clean up other areas of the race route. All supplies will be provided to those who need them. Bring your own if you have them. No need to sign up. Just show up. We’ll meet at Waterfront Park.
