River Sweep

July 2025 until we reach 100 pounds!

We've been finding a lot of litter in our waterways, so it's time to take action. Here's the challenge: Let's pick up 100 pounds of litter from our waterways.

Whenever you are out on the water, whether kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, or boating, please pick up whatever litter you find. Send us a photo of your "Catch of the Day" with an estimate of the weight, and we'll share and keep a tally. We started July 13 with Anne and Marlene's three pounds of litter collected from Knobbs Creek, including a baseball. That was some home run! We hope it was one of our River City Skippers who scored.

So far we've removed 8 pounds of litter from our local waterways - only 92 pounds to go. Let's get it done!
